The county is comprised of over ten separate towns and unincorporated communities. Avon, Arrowhead, Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, Eagle,Eagle-Vail, Edwards, Gypsum, Minturn, Vail, and Wolcott. Together they are known as the Vail Valley, each with its own small-town ambiance and flavor.
The Vail Valley can be described as the ideal place to live with a balance of recreation, incredible amenities and a beautiful small town environment surrounded with mountain vistas of the Gore Range, and the summers a blaze of color from fields of wild flowers.
In the 2000 census, Eagle County had a population of over 40,000. There is a diverse culture comprised of many nationalities.
